So, you might be wondering about my business name. Why "Gentle" balance. Well, we're all trying to balance a lot of life. Balance our home life, our work commitments, time with the partner/husband/wife, time with kids, playtime, creative time and so on. It's such a juggle to find enough time to do it all. I'm a perfectionist by nature and have a lot of dreams. I also used to work for many years in a hospital where time management was paramount in order to just get everything done before the next shift arrived so they weren't stuck with the work I didn't achieve in my shift. So we bolt through life from one thing to the next, missing the small things that are trying to remind us what life is really all about. One thing I noticed when I had my first baby is that life slows down dramatically. When you take a toddler for a walk, you could probably walk backwards faster. They want to inspect every detail...............it's SOOOO slowwwwwwwwwwww!!!! BUT, I slowly realized that the little person was teaching me a very important lesson. SLOW DOWN and really look at what's around you. The little ant going about it's business, tugging a piece of food back to the nest that's about 3 times bigger than it, the flowers in bloom, the flight of a flock of ducks, the shape of the clouds, the way the wind blows the leaves inviting you to play. Gradually, I learnt to slow down. I think we keep up this fast pace sometimes so we don't have to slow down and have a good look at where we're heading!!! So, I've been trying to achieve a balance which isn't forced, but gentle and mindful. To slow down and smell the roses and be grateful for where I am and how I got there!!!

![]() About 2 months ago, I was in a state of panic. Where was I going to set up my little Kinesiology Clinic that respected my need for space for clients. Where on earth is that space that I'm looking for which honours myself and the client whilst still giving my the opportunity to honour the needs of my family, husband and 3 kids. Well, my creative husband came up with the perfect solution. We carted rocks until our backs were protesting, filled with 12 trailer loads of fill, gravel on top and there's the base for my new space. It overlooks the garden, has available parking and is separate from my house hence everyone's needs are honoured. Sometimes, we just need to think creatively to come up with the solution. Now, to the building stage. I'll keep you posted. 16th August, 2017. So the building stage has started!!! The site has been here, settling, while we have been living our very busy lives. I'm super excited to have the space that I've been dreaming about for the last 3 years. It will be bigger, I'll be able to fit everything into the cupboards (the ones in my mind anyway!!), and overlooks our garden. Parking is easier and most importantly, my husband gets his section of the yard back!! So watch this space, it's coming!!
