First Stages of building the Gentle Balance Studio - August 2017
So the building stage has started!!!  The site has been here, settling, while we have been living our very busy lives.  I'm super excited to have the space that I've been dreaming about for the last 3 years.  It will be bigger, I'll be able to fit everything into the cupboards (the ones in my mind anyway!!), and overlooks our garden.  Parking is easier and most importantly, my husband gets his section of the yard back!!  So watch this space, it's coming!!

Where am I at the moment?!!

It's about time that I gave an update on what I'm up to lately.  I've been working part-time for 1 year from Homegrown Health, a beautiful organic cafe in Toowoomba.  I've got a lovely little clinic space in the back of the cafe where I'm available for massage and kinesiology/reiki appointments.  On Thursdays, I work from a space in one of the local retirement villages in Toowoomba, Bridge Street Village Resort, where I see some elderly clients and also help them with their choir.  I play the keyboard for the little Village choir and every month we have a mini concert.  It's really fun and keeps me in a volunteer capacity in town.  Also, I'm in the process of setting up another little satellite clinic in Forest Hill (near Gatton) which I hope to go to every fortnight on a Monday.  This has come about by request from some Plainlands locals who have asked could I come there instead of them all driving up the Range.  Hopefully, this new venture can sustain itself.  I'll have a room in the "Meaning to Stop Shop" on the highway at Forest Hill.  Looking forward to meeting the locals in that area.  My kids are growing up ridiculously fast and I'm trying to keep up with their needs.  They are beautiful individuals, all different but all playing soccer this year.  My husband is trying to recuperate from a broken ankle which he keeps injuring.  He's broken the same bone twice since last August.  It's a bit hard to climb into ceilings and up ladders with a moon boot on your leg so work for him has been frustrating.

I'm studying aromatherapy also, a fascinating subject which I'll incorporate into my clinic practice.  The use of essential oils in my space will lend it's own magic and I'm looking forward to incorporating their essence into Gentle Balance.
I'm still very much involved in my own healing and growth.  I've found some beautiful healers around my area who keep me on the straight and narrow.  We're all dealing with our lives, the challenges, hiccups, joys and moments.  Living more in the moment and less in my "overthinking" head is very much a daily practice that I try to adopt.  Not sure I'm so good with that but I'm learning to worry less and trust more!!  My motto is very much "persistance paves the way" at present, Thankyou Toni for keeping it real.  xx

"Recently I gave birth to our first daughter; I was a high risk pregnancy throughout and very unwell for the journey.  I started visiting Kris early on in the pregnancy and visited her right up till the day Aria was born, with Kris visiting and giving me a balance while in hospital.

Kris made me feel safe, and gave me clarity and insight when I became overwhelmed, she helped me to listen to my intuition and stay on track.

I can highly recommend Kris and her Kinesiology clinic to anyone looking to make shifts small or large in their lives, she is passionate, talented and goes above and beyond to insure you receive the best results .

Thankyou Kris for all you did for me and my family.

Blessings Zoe"

The benefits of Reiki

Recently I have added Reiki to my skills.  I went into Reiki with very little knowledge of its background and theory and soon found out that I was intuititively using Reiki skills without realising.  It's origins are Japanese and has a very loving ethos.  It's about feeling and tuning into the spirit of a person and being able to help heal spiritual pain.  The premise is that our spiritual pain which can be caused by denying the self, can then cause physical breakdown.  So, our physical ailments can be due to spiritual pain.  We're surrounded by an aura which like anything else, needs looking after.  If our aura cracks or loses its energy, there's opportunity for us to let in energy that causes harm.  So, for example, if you're working in a job where the energy of the people surrounding you is overall negative (bitchiness, backbiting, jealousy, unfair etc) eventually it will affect us.  So if you can picture your body surrounded by a protective shell and that shell keeps out the negativity, any time our shell cracks or breaks, there's opportunity for surrounding energy to enter.  Having said that, the same goes for positive energy but that's lovely when we can be surrounded by positivity as it will keep us strong also.  The things that can make our aura crack comes from our inner spiritual health.  Whatever is going on inside us will either strengthen our aura or weaken it.  So, if we aren't honouring who we are, we won't feel peaceful inside.  If we have internal conflict between our beliefs and the beliefs of others, that can cause that internal stress.  Reiki is able to help with that stress by helping to release it from where the body is holding our stress.  Sometimes we need to clean our aura which can be done when we shower and wash off the day, meditation, time outside in nature, smudging, burning incense etc - whatever resonates with you.

Often when we ask the Creator for something, we expect to receive it in a certain way.  I have been wanting a large sum of money in order to buy the materials to finish my clinic which seems to be a long time coming.  I thought the money was the thing I needed..........until this last weekend.  I received 5 loads of dirt, 3 hours of my brother-in-laws time on the back of an excavator and concrete retaining wall blocks.  The path to my clinic is now almost completed, I have soil for my garden and vege patch and as a bonus, the pad for my husbands shed is in the process of being built.  You might wonder, how does this help with the clinic?  Well it's all part of the bigger picture.  My clinic is going to be up in the shed area of our yard, the area that's the least attractive and the most untidy.  All this due to the fact that my hubby can't properly store his gear.  By fixing all these issues, my clinic area will have a carpark area, a proper path, quietness and my husband will have a proper parking area and storage area for his truck and equipment.  Mutually beneficial agreements!!!  The Creator knows best and I'm grateful!!

Mandala for my Dad
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of undertaking a Spiritual Art Workshop.  For 2 days I got the benefit of Christine Quinlivan's expertise, artistic ability, and spiritual awareness in this workshop.  The art was all created in a mandala, a sacred circle.  The intention was to create pieces that represented how I felt about certain people, situations or things by using symbols, colours, shapes and images.  There's no right or wrong - just opening up your right brain (the creative side) and allowing flow from that space.  Not a lot of artistic ability is required just a certain amount of courage to just let it happen.  This has been a beautiful experience, showing me that I have a creative side that can be developed further.  Look for an exhibition further on down the track!!!

Dreams do come true!!!

I've been dreaming of having my own vegetable patch for such a long time...............and this week, I have started making it happen.  My father and I have finally put together 3 beds to start my patch which I hope to share with my family and extended family depending on produce.  There's more beds coming but I didn't want to start too big initially.  I have a compost already there which is working really well and we have some water.  Herbs are the first things to go in and then with Dad and Mum's knowledge and wisdom, I can start planting.  So don't give up on your dreams.  Mine took 6 years to come together, but the timing is perfect.  Don't let those dreams fade or die if they're important to you, just keep plugging away.

The guilty "Lost Soul"

This image painted by me was created after having a massive dose of the guilts.  It got me wondering then about guilt and why is it that we flog ourselves with guilt whenever we do something supposedly wrong?   "Guilt is based on having bought into the expectations of others.  We believe we must live up to other's expectations and standards" (according to 3 in 1 Concepts, "The Behavioural Barometer's World").  It also relates to the large bowel and the lung energy according to Five Element theory in Kinesiology.  The large bowel eliminates what the body no longer needs.  Carrying guilt can play havoc with the bowel and issues like constipation can come into play.  Now men seem to be as regular as clockwork unlike women,  and this got me wondering.  Do men not suffer guilt like women?  Possibly not to the same extent. Women seem to carry enormous amounts of guilt in their day-to-day lives (I know I do) and get the guilts over just about anything.  Are we trying too hard to be like everyone else?  Are we trying to meet the perceived expectations of others.............be the perfect partner/wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunty etc etc etc.  Take a load off girls, let it go (both physically and emotionally)!!  Walk tall, you are who you are!!  Enjoy every moment without guilt!!
