a bit about me.........

I have been working in the health industry for over 30 years starting out as a Registered Nurse.  I worked in Paediatrics, Operating theatre, Emergency, Schools and Indigenous Communities in Far North Queensland.  When my children started going to school and I had a bit more time to spare, I started to diversify my interests and studied Kinesiology.  I had been introduced to Kinesiology as a form of therapy for myself and I loved the clarity and understanding  that I gained during a session.  After completing 600 hours of training, I was fully qualified and able to start my own part-time business and continue full-time mothering.  Adding Holistic massage and Reiki into my space was a natural progression as both of these modalities complement Kinesiology.

Our health is our greatest asset.  When I was nursing, I often witnessed the struggle of ill health and the impact of trauma on a person's life from a physical, mental and emotional perspective.  I very rarely considered the spiritual impact of ill health and trauma in the hospital setting and often had very little time to deal with the emotions of the patients.  Nursing, for me, was very task oriented.  Being a natural listener, I was often frustrated with the limited time I could give individuals who just wanted to tell "their story" and I have come to realize that the telling of the "story" is the key to healing.  I am now able to offer so much more time to individuals to share and then use my "tools" to assist with the individuals' innate ability to heal themselves.  Our body tells us the rest by the way it handles stress, where our pain resides, our coping strategies and our strengths.  My job in the clinic setting is to put the verbal story and the body's signs together to create a gentle and effective balancing session creating clarity, stress release and lightness.

On a more personal note, I am the mother to three grown up children, 2 sons and 1 daughter.  My children are both my greatest achievement and source of the greatest stress as any parent will agree.   I have learnt so much from parenting through all the stages and now just enjoying my kids as young adults who are growing and achieving their own dreams. I recently moved to Allora to enjoy the slower pace of life, have some green space to grow veges and live more in tune with our beautiful earth.  I have a little rascal dog called Gus who will join us during a therapy session providing his own brand of therapy and joy!!
